Get to Know Us
After leaving school I intended to get a sustainable trade behind myself and master it. At the age of 17, I began my journey in the industry attending college to get my NVQ qualifications within plumbing whilst gaining experience and knowledge working for various plumbing and heating companies. I soon applied for a British Gas apprenticeship in gas service and repair to widen my knowledge and gain more qualifications. It was here that I was lucky to also be awarded with Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
After completing my apprenticeship within my engineering career, I went from strength to strength, being recognized by the business for being in the top 5% of engineers performing in the country! Development opportunities soon came my way and in 2019, I got my first big promotion within the business and became a manager. Here I oversaw a customer contract base of around 20,000 and oversaw the performance and development of my then-local team. The challenge was something I relished, being able to still be around customers, supporting other engineers, and helping the business grow was very appealing to me personally.
Over the next 3 years as a manager within British Gas, I managed over 100 engineers across multiple sectors of the business, from central heating installations, gas service, and repair to electrical services. Each sector has its challenges, but with challenges, my knowledge and experience were gained.
Towards the back end of 2021, I and my family relocated to a new location, which personally and professionally was a huge landmark not only for myself but also for my family.
In April 2022, the decision was made, not only based on personal life aspects but also on a professional basis, that to the next big step was the creation of Safe Heating Solutions Ltd. The biggest pull to making decisions was the flexibility around family life but most importantly being able to provide our customers “You” a professional first-class service, considering your safety throughout, and being able to conduct our ideas when it came to supporting and providing a service.
